OUR ORIGIN STORIES

Grove City Community Church is a non-denominational church formed in 2014 by a team of families that are passionate about sharing God’s message of love and hope to the community of Grove City. Originally located in the Grove City Town Center, the church moved to a new facility just outside of the Town Center in 2018.

One of the primary goals of the church has been to emulate the close-knit and organic community of the early church that we read about in Acts.

The Grove Church was formed in 2017 by Pastor Eric and Katie Zimmer. The church started as an informal gathering of family, friends, and neighbors that met in the Zimmer’s living room once a week for dinner and discussion. As the group began to grow a larger meeting space was needed and in 2019 The Grove Church began holding Sunday services at Transcend Coffee in the Grove City Town Center.

Ready For The Future

A lot has changed in our world over the last two years but there’s a few things we know for sure: (1) Nothing catches God by surprise and (2) He has plans for us that go beyond our furthest imaginations. That’s what we’ve experienced this year.

Both churches emerged from the difficulties of 2020 with a desire and dedication to move forward in fulfilling God’s mission. As we entered 2021 with tons of prayer and thoughts about the future, a conversation between the pastors of both churches sparked a new adventure that we’ve been traveling through this year.

We realized that we would be more effective in accomplishing God’s mission if we worked together. We realized that we could reach and serve more people if we pooled our resources. We realized our church family would be stronger if we were united. We would be better together. After all, the Church was never meant to compete with itself. The Church was designed to be united in mission and purpose.

In May of 2021 the churches began holding services together with Eric Zimmer taking the Lead Pastor role for the new combined church.

This is our journey so far but the reality is that we’re really just getting started. We know there are great things ahead for The Grove Church and the community of Grove City and we’d love to have you come on this adventure with us.
